Instagram stories have been all the rage since they were first released. Recently, Instagram has made it so that you can now save your Instagram stories on your profile for longer than 24 hours, as “highlights.” Because of these changes, a lot of people have started to become more creative with their stories and have stepped up the game with animated Instagram stories.
I always saw people making their animated Instagram stories and wondered how they were doing it. I finally figured it out and can’t wait to share with you all a few ways to take your IG stories to the next level!

1. Creative Market Templates
My favorite way to make animated Instagram stories is with Creative Market. This method is perfect if you don’t want to spend a ton of time making your own Instagram story templates since someone makes them for you via Creative Market! If you don’t know: Creative Market is a marketplace for consumers to shop design elements, fonts, templates, and more from graphic designers.

2. Hype Type
Another way to make your Instagram stories animated is to use an iOS app called “Hype Type.” The app allows you to make the words/typography on your Instagram stories animated, which is super cool. However, if you want to remove the watermark on your story, you do have to upgrade to the premium subscription of the app.
You don’t have a ton of options with Hype Type, but it works well enough for those of you that may just want to animate your stories every now and then.
3. Adobe Spark Post
The last option for how to make animated Instagram stories is to use Adobe Spark Post. The app itself is similar to Hype Type but offers a few more options for you. Adobe Spark Post has a similar feel to Canva, which is a popular website/app for us bloggers!
