Christmas is right around the corner (I can’t wait!) and it’s time to think about what to get the leading lady in your life. Mom’s are the best…but what do they really want for Christmas?

I’ve gathered some perfect Christmas gift ideas for mothers in this post. These gift ideas are tried and true (my mom is usually pretty hard to buy for!) These gift ideas also won’t break the bank, even though mommas deserve the whole world 😉

Need ideas for what to get a college-aged girl for Christmas? Check out my guide here.

5 Perfect Christmas Gifts for Your Mom

1. Cozy Flannel Pajamas

You really can’t go wrong with pajamas for moms. While some pajama sets are thin and “cheap-feeling”, a good pair of flannel pajamas go a long way.

My favorite brands to buy for my mom are Pajama Salvage, Victoria’s Secret, or L.L. Bean. You really get what you pay for with flannel pajamas, so I recommend spending a little more on a set that will last for years to come.

2. Luxury Bath and Body Care

Every mom should feel pampered from time to time! That’s why I love giving luxury bath + body care. Some of my favorite brands to buy from include Origins and LUSH.

Bath bombs are such a fun gift to give, because they come in so many colors and scents. I like shopping with the person in mind, so if I know my mom loves lavender…I’ll get her lavender soap or body wash. Extra little details like that show that you really listen and put some thought into the gift.

3. Heavy Blankets

No one can ever have enough blankets! I love buying heated/electric blankets for people (they are life-changing), or heavy, knitted blankets (like the ones you see all over Instagram!)

A few years ago, my sister bought my mom an electric blanket and she still uses it to this day! It’s so nice and snuggly to use when watching TV in bed or the living room.

4. Personalized Kitchen Accessories

One of my favorite gifts I’ve ever given my mom was a personalized cutting board. It was something unexpected, and my mom uses it all the time, even as a cheese board when we have company over (it gets lots of compliments!)

My mom has also received a personalized/engraved pie pan, and it’s really special to her. Think about what your mom likes to cook/bake, and get her name put on it! Plus, she’ll never lose it 😉

5. Artisan Coffee/Tea

Who doesn’t love coffee? Well, actually, my mom 😂 She’s more of a tea drinker, but both coffee and tea make a great gift. I like to splurge on more small-batch and artisan roasts/blends for Christmas gifts. Skip the Starbucks gift card this year, and show her that you thought outside the box.

This idea is really perfect for anyone in your life, as almost everyone likes either coffee or tea! Another gift idea to pair with this is a french-press or tea pot. I love the blooming tea (pictured to the left!)

What is the best gift you have ever given before? I would love to know!

It’s time to go back to school. While most of us are focused on getting new school supplies, it’s also fun to play around with your home decor for the new year and give your space an upgrade!

I spend a lot of time in my room working on homework + projects, so it’s important to me to have a space that feels good! Redecorating your room doesn’t have to be a huge task, or expensive. You can make a huge impact on a budget, and still get awesome results.

My Back to School Bedroom

The walls in my room are verrrryyy boring and bare. I’ve always wished they were a different color, but since I rent the apartment I currently live in, it doesn’t seem worth it to me to re-paint the walls.

I used Devine Color’s Peel-and-Stick Speckled Dot removable wallpaper to add some life back into my room. I loved this change and it was very easy to install the wallpaper.

I picked out an awesome black and white pattern for my bedroom wall to tie into the rest of my decor.

I decided to put the peel-and-stick wallpaper on the wall that my desk sits on so that it can be an accent to the room.

I also decided to hang up a couple of my favorite desk items on my new wallpaper; like my calendar + corkboard, which are both from Target. The best part about Devine Color products is that they were made especially to work seamlessly with Target home decor items. You can only get Devine Color products at Target (online + in-stores.)

The wallpaper also perfectly ties in with the Target decor in the rest of my room. Almost all of my bedding (sheets, comforter, and throws) are from Target.

Because I live in an apartment with 4 other girls, I wanted to do something for the rest of my housemates for back to school. So, I decided to make some chalkboard-painted mugs to share with the rest of my girls!

I used Devine Color’s chalkboard paint to paint ceramic coffee mugs. Bedroom Decor with Devine Color

After 2 coats of Devine Color’s chalkboard paint, my mugs were dry, opaque, and ready to write on!

Devine Color + Target definitely didn’t disappoint. My housemates love my new room + keep asking where I got my wallpaper from!

I love the summertime, but if I’m going to be honest…I don’t love the heat. I can’t lay out and tan all day long without feeling like dying (😂) and am normally the one splashing around in the pool.

August is usually the hottest month of the summer here in Chicago, and the heat is getting to me. So, I decided to share a few of my tried-and-true tips with you all about how to stay cool + beat the heat while summer rages on.

Tips to Stay Cool This Summer

  • Carry around a facial spray or mist in your purse/pool bag. My favorite is this one from Evian. These sprays are lifesavers for reviving makeup and giving you a cool blast during a day out.
  • Always wear sunscreen when outside! I like to use a face primer/moisturizer that has SPF already in it’s ingredients.
  • Drink chrysanthemum tea. (Weird, right?) Apparently, chrysanthemum tea is proven to actually lower your body temperature.
  • Take a cold shower for a quick fix.
  • Stick your pillow cases + sheets in plastic bags, and then place into the freezer for a couple hours. By bedtime, you’ll have chilled bed linens! (Totally trying this one.)
  • Stay hydrated! Your body sweats a lot in the summer, and it’s important to replenish yourself with liquids. Drinking water can be boring sometimes, so I drink Spindrift® sparkling water to keep me hydrated + add some fun into my summer days.

I’ve started to drink Spindrift® this summer and have fallen in love. Their drinks are unsweetened + the only sugar/calories in it come from the real fruit they use. My favorite flavor is their Raspberry Lime, but they have a ton of flavors, including Lemon, Cucumber, Grapefruit, Orange Mango, Strawberry, and Blackberry.

And Spindrift® is America’s first and only sparkling water made with real, squeezed fruit. Spindrift® = sparkling water + real fruit. Yup, that’s it.

Thank you Deer Lord! for sponsoring this post. Grab your new edition of Deer Lord! social party game, available through Target retail stores starting July 30.

I recently got to go back home to Cleveland and spend time with my family. I love getting out of the city for a little bit and being able to clear my head with the people I love most.

You can check out what I did back home by following me on Instagram.

Family Game Night with DEER LORD!

One night, in particular, I decided to introduce my family to my newest obsession, Deer Lord! It’s a party game where players challenge each other to “Duels,” and also attempt to “Dupe” each other by secretly getting away with funny social actions unnoticed. Deer Lord! began as European independent game phenomena. The new revised editions differ from the original in several ways: the new edition rules are more expansive than the minimalist version in the classic edition, and the classic “Do Something” cards have become “Dupe” cards.

The game is so hilarious, and my family quickly caught on to why I love it so much!

What I especially love about this game is how easy it is to “catch on” and learn the rules of the game. Nothing’s worse than trying to introduce a new game to your family, only to have to waste an hour trying to explain how to play!

My sister and mom had tears in their eyes by the end of the game 😂 The “Duel” cards are so much fun, because you get to challenge another player to do something ridiculous with you. For example, my sister once dueled me during the game to see who had the best “pimp walk” between the two of us. She won 😂

If you want to see how to play/experience a round of the game yourself, take a look at this video, or check out the website.
