Believe it or not: I actually love Valentine’s Day, and always have. It’s such a fun day to celebrate the loves in your life, whether they be platonic or romantic.
This year, I got the opportunity to try out some extra sparkly accessories from Michael Hill Jewelers. I had heard of the brand before and seen their styles on my Instagram, so I was so stoked to actually get the chance to try out the brand first hand.
While I love jewelry, I don’t always stray away from my staple accessories, so getting the chance to glam up my look for Valentine’s Day was amazing. I don’t like to wear bracelets (I’m more of a necklace/ring/earring girl), and MHJ totally listened to me and helped me find pieces that I would actually wear!
The first piece from MHJ I got is the Knots Sterling Silver Ring. I love how simple the design is, but also how gorgeous the ring is. I even got a few compliments on the ring when I wore it 😉 There is also a super cool message behind this ring, created by Christine Hill: “this ring is a tangible reminder to hold on to everything that’s most precious.”
The next piece I picked out is easily my favorite…and you guys are gonna DIE. Future husband: take note, and please get me a diamond bracelet just like this bangle. I seriously think this is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for any special girl and can’t stop staring at it.
I’m talking about the Michael Hill Everlight Bangle, which features a split at the top of the design to highlight a diamond centerpiece, which is set to move and sparkle continuously, and surrounded by a glittering halo. It is so glittery and makes me feel like a glamour queeeeeen.
Perhaps what I’m most excited about in regards to Michael Hill Jewelers is the story behind the brand. Unlike other big, commercial jewelers, Michael Hill Jewelers is a family-owned business that brought their designs to the US from New Zealand about 10 years ago. Sir Michael Hill actually started his career as a watchmaker and then moved into jewelry to become an expert in the field.
There are so many different designs to choose from (over 500 choices!), which is why I think it’s the perfect retailer to use for picking out a Valentine’s Day gift (or any other special occasion.) And better yet, MHJ is part of the Responsible Jewelry Council, which ensures credible sourcing and ethical business sourcing…which is really important in the diamond industry.
