If you know me, you know that I don’t trust just anyone with my hair. I’ve been platinum blonde for a few years now, and not everyone can nail the exact shade of blonde that I love. Recently, Michael Canalé’s team reached out to me to let me know that Michael was going to be in town and that he would love to color my hair. I’m sorry – what?! Michael Canalé is a hair-color guru and most sought-after hair colorist to celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Kyra Sedgwick, Carolyn Murphy, Faye Dunaway, Denise Richards (just to name a few). In the world of hair coloring, Michael Canalé is without peer. Voted “Best-of-the-Best” by Allure Magazine 14 years in a row, Michael is consistently relied on by an extensive cast of A-list women that includes celebrities, CEO’s and socialites of all styles and stripes.
Needless to say, I was more than stoked to get my hair colored by Michael Canalé. First things first, I have to say that Michael is the most KIND, genuine person. I fell in love with his warm personality and enjoyed my whole salon visit (platinum blonde takes hourssss!) because we had a great conversation and I learned a lot about his life/business. He gives great advice and takes the time to get to know each one of his clients.
I left my first appointment with Michael in shock. My hair looked SO good. A lot of the time, I leave hair appointments with my roots being left yellow and brassy, since my roots are dark and haven’t been bleached as many times as the rest of my hair. That was not the case leaving my appointment with Michael. My hair was the perfect amount of ashy, and my roots seamlessly blended in the rest of my hair.
One of the best things about getting your hair done with Michael is that he cares about the health of your hair. In fact, Michael created a whole line of hair products so that you can take care of your hair in between appointments. (Blog post about the products coming soon!)
The last time I got my hair colored by Michael, I was also able to get my hair cut by his cousin, Jeffrey Martinez. Jeffrey encouraged me to cut my hair shorter than I have in a while, and I am so obsessed with my new, long bob. It compliments my platinum blonde so well and is really easy to style myself at home! In short, both Michael and Jeffrey are nothing short of wonderful and I thoroughly enjoy getting to spend time with them and learn about their careers. Plus, I leave the salon with my blonde revived! I would highly recommend both for cut + color…they really can’t be beaten.
